BA(Geography)

The Geography department of New Alipore College has started its curriculum in general course in 2013 with three students and a teacher. Under the supervision of Miss. Debjani Banerjee the development of the department has started. At present, under the guidance of Mrs. Priyanka Dutta , Mrs. Moumita Das and Mrs Atashi Mondal, the number of students has increased to 51. In future we are trying for the development of the department and we are also trying to introduce honours course in future.

Faculty members of the department are involved in various research activities. They publish their articles in different reputed ISSN Journals, ISBN volumes, Seminar Proceedings regularly.

We have a computer with internet facility in the department for General course students. Students can use computer for their studies, projects work and University specified work. The department has its own departmental library where from students can borrow books, according to their requirements. Other facilities such as Light tressing box, mirror stereoscope, Aerial photos are available for practical classes. Topographical sheets and others instruments are used regularly for practical purposes.

We organize educational excursion for the students every year as it is a compulsory work include in their UG curriculum. It also increases their social and nature awareness.  Apart from this, students are encouraged to participate in the workshops and poster presentations organized in our college and other institutes. Students participated in Avensis every year in the month of December-January.
