Membership and Circulation

BORROWER CATEGORY AND ELIGIBILITY

                All the current students of the college and following categories of faculty and staff members can borrow book for specified time period.

Students: Student must be enrolled for current session.

Teaching staff: Includes associate professors, assistant professors, librarians, CWTTs, PTTs & SACTs.

Staff: Includes current staffs of the college.

 LOAN CRITERIA/ PERIOD

                 It is the library’s goal to provide an accurate and expeditious process for circulating materials. Periodicals and reference books  remain in the library. This assures maximum information access for all users Students, faculty, staffs may borrow books for specified loan periods. However, library reserves the right to call back issued books whenever needed. Policy details are under mentioned.

 

For students:

Books—15 days; renewable once

Reserve items from reference section — In-library use only

Periodicals, Reference books—In-library use only.

 

For Faculty members:

Books—90days ; renewable twice for 45 days

Reserve items from reference section —May be loaned out conditionally

Periodicals, Reference books—In-library use only

 

For staff members:

Books—30 days; renewable twice for another 30 days

Reserve items from reference section — In-library use only

Periodicals, Reference books—In-library use only.

NOTE: All materials on loan have to be returned two weeks before the end of the session.

 

OVERDUE FINES:

                Materials are circulated for a specified period of time, as stamped on the date label of the first page of the book.  If an item has not been returned by the due date charges are levied from the next day.

For regular circulating materials:  From the very next day of stipulated “Date of return” overdue fine @Rs. 1.00/day per volume of book levied on students.  Borrowing privileges of the student will be blocked for a month if the said book(s) is not returned within 30 days of stipulated “Date of return”.

The matter will be noted in the note section of the user account in KOHA as well as on lending card of the user.

Repeated incidences will be notified to the Principal and Library Sub-Committee for taking necessary action.

If the ‘Date of return' falls within vacation, then books are to be returned within 7 days after the college reopens.
