Chronology of Alumni Association Activities of New Alipore College

 

  1. December 04, 2019: A meeting was convened by the Principal, New Alipore College for the formation of the Alumni Association of New Alipore College and to elect its office bearers was convened on January 05, 2020.
  1. January 05, 2020: A small group of alumni (23 in number) met to form the functional body of the Alumni Association by electing the President, Vice-Presidents, Secretary, Assistant Secretaries and Treasurer and general members
  1. January 05, 2020: A Reunion programme was also held in a small scale comprising of cultural programmes and refreshments.
  1. January 06, 2020:  A Whatsapp group created with the inclusion of the functional members of the association and a deadline of January 20, 2020 was finalised to submit the relevant documents of the members for Registration of the Association.
  1. March 16, 2020: Lockdown of colleges started due to outbreak of Covid-19 across the world stalling the all activities of registration process.
  1. August 20, 2020:  An Alumni Member Registration page created in the website of New Alipore College. Online registration as member done by the Secretary, Dr. Indranil Bhattacharyya. A few others followed. All alumni requested through WA to register online.
  1. October 25, 2020: One of the alumni members, Mr. Bikram Dhara circulated an online survey about the perception of people about Covid vaccine
  1. March 03, 2021: An alumni feedback form about college facilities was circulated by Mr. Victor Mukherjee for the ex-students of the college.
  1. March 30, 2021: As Alumni Representative to the IQAC, Dr. Indranil Bhattacharyya, Secretary elect of New Alipore College Alumni Association proposed to the college to create a link of the website and circulate among teachers for joining the alumni association.

He also visited the Dept. of Chemistry and discussed some proposal about the organisation of reunion and seminar presentation by well established alumni at academic positions.

  1.  September 28, 2021: An alumni meet was proposed after the registration process in the IQAC meeting attended by Alumni Representative to the IQAC, Dr. Indranil Bhattacharyya.
  1. October 05, 2021: Preparation of Memorandum of Association for registration process starts and required documents and details for all the office bearers sought
  1.  December 05, 2021: Memorandum of Association approved by President  for submission to the concerned Government office as per procedure.
  1.   February 10, 2022: Application for Registration submitted online.
  1.  March 15, 2022: An alumni feedback form about college facilities was circulated by Dr. Indranil Bhattacharyya for the ex-students of the college.
  1.  March 25, 2022: Dr. Indranil Bhattacharyya, Secretary elect of the Alumni association proposed to IQAC to arrange a meeting of HODs to cooperate for promotion of the Alumni association.
  1.  July 18, 2022: Some points discussed about alumni involvement in IQAC meeting attended by Dr. Indranil Bhattacharyya, Secretary elect of the Alumni Association. Dr. Bhattacharya suggested a subjective focus in career counselling involving the alumni and they can also be involved in the placement and act as mentors. In this context, webinars with alumni could be arranged who could serve as role models for current students.

He also discussed some issues about convening a meeting of the alumni association of the Department of Chemistry and thinking about ways to get substantive contribution from the alumni for the welfare of the students in their academic career.

  1.  November 1, 2022: Alumni association formally gets registered as “New Alipore College Students’ Alumni Association”.
  1.  November 19, 2022: The certificate of Registration was formally handed over to Dr. Jaydip Sarangi, Principal, New Alipore College
  1.  January 06, 2023: Notice was issued for the first Governing Body meeting of the registered “New Alipore College Students’ Alumni Association”.
  1.  January 07, 2023: First Governing Body meeting of “New Alipore College Students’ Alumni Association” held presided over by Sri Debasish Kumar in which a few crucial decisions were arrived at as per government regulations which were intimated in the WA group. A tree was planted at the college Garden to signify the occasion.
  1.  January 20, 2023: A formal offline registration form was prepared as decided in the meeting for enrolment of new members with a one time membership fee of Rs.400/- and annual contribution of Rs.600/- and circulated in the WA group.
  1.  January 22, 2023: A facebook group of “New Alipore College Students’ Alumni Association” created link of which circulated in WA group.
  1.  January 26, 2023: A camp for enrolment of new members of the association was organised on the occasion of Saraswati Puja in the college campus.  
  1.  January 28, 2023:  A meeting was held with the HODs of all departments to seek cooperation from all the ex-students of the respective departments for enrolment in the Alumni association of the college and organise outreach activities and programmes for the welfare of the community and the college with the ex-students. TCS and Coordinator, IQAC also graced the meeting.
