Department of Bengali

The Department of Bengali of New Alipore College started its journey right from the inspection of the in 1963 (General) and 1969 (Honours). The department arranges Bengali Classes to all the students of 1st year of B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com. (both Honours and General ) programme. As per University guideline and the policy of the academic committee of the institution for undergraduate students, the department follows annual system. The teachers also arrange continuous assessment along with Class tests, Mid-term examinations, and Selection tests as per University guideline. As per requirement tutorial classes are conducted by the department. One faculty member is member of UG Board of Studies in Defence Studies (C.U.). One U.G.C. sponsored State Level  seminar Jointly organized by Sahitya Academy and three Departments (Bengali, English and Sanskrit)  named –“Ami in Rabindranath” dated 01.03.2012-02.03.2012. College Library is enriched with the Bengali text and reference books of new syllabus as well as old valuable books. Open access system in the Library attracts the students. In order to help the students a departmental library is functioning. The faculty always try to encourage  students to take active part and arrange  programmes like Departmental cultural function, publishing magazine etc. In last five years two students secured first class and get rank in final examination of Calcutta University.

Fees for Admission in Bengali Honors is Rs-2030 (Without Journalism, Education as General Subjects)

(Extra Payment for Education is Rs-720, and Journalism Rs-3600 at the time of admission)
