Department of Zoology

 

Bioscience General was introduced in the year 1999. The advance course of Zoology was started from the session 2006-2007. The founder of the department was Late Dr. Atreyee Basak. Department was initially started with one fulltime teacher, one contractual whole time teacherten students and with gradual progression the present student strength of the department is sixty and above.

All the faculties of the department of zoology are well qualified and acquainted with the recent research advancement in their fields. The faculty of the department of zoology includes two contractual, two part time and two guest lecturers. The non academic staff is a fulltime laboratory attendant.

Department is also well equipped with proper instruments and Seminal Library necessary for conducting undergraduate course.

Courses in collaboration with the department

Our department is providing entire facilities (teaching staff, non teaching staff, laboratory equipments etc.) to support the undergraduate zoology course including practical examinations of Netaji Subhas Open University since 2008.

TEACHER STUDENT RATIO:  18 : 1 for Honours course & 33 : 1 for General Course.
